I have a question about managed meds and major surgery?

Someone having had a similar experience, please give me some
feedback, because I’m really worried–fears that or
Hopefully/probably unwarranted, but either way, let me know what you
think!

I’m having major surgery very soon! Doctor in charge is not the
doctor who prescribes my (lets just say) TABOO medication-I’m sure
you know what it is? She would like me to be completely off of the
medication long before the surgery, but admit nurse says the
anesthesiologist is in charge of all meds and says you can take it up
until midnight before the surgery. My question is, eventhough
they’re going to be medicating me w/ other meds- will I still suffer
withdrawals either before or during my sedation? Other question, will
my tolerance levels affect the anesthesia? Will it be less
affective?

My last question! What medicines would be best and still work on me
during my recoup period in the hospital. Taken into consideration,
it will be somewhat less than what I take on a regular basis. I
still don’t want to be in a lot of pain?? WHO does? ANY
recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I hope I can calm
down and relax before and during this process. I’ve been on this
medication for a LONG time!! Thanks,

Lucid dreaming for someone with chronic insomnia?

I would really like to have lucid dreams more frequently, but I noticed that many of the techniques used involve waking up at night. I’m on a prescribed medication for my insomnia, but waking up would most likely mean that I wouldn’t be able to get back to sleep. I’ve been recording my dreams, thinking about dreaming before sleeping, etc, which has certainly helped, but I’d like to try some more effective methods. Does anyone know of some techniques that may work for me?

I have a constant pain on the top left side of my head?

I have had a constant pain on the left side of my head for the last two weeks. I have had a CAT scan done a couple of months ago that came back O.K. I have chronic headaches but this pain will not go away even with medication. If any one has any idea what could be causing this I would be Thankful. I am currently on Lyrica. My Dr thought it might be a nerve but it has not helped.

Why do I have lower back pain?

First off, I have no idea why I have lower back pain. I am young, so it can’t be an “age” issue, and I thought maybe it was the way I slept. I sleep on my side, can this lead to lower back pain?

The pain is only felt when I bend over, worse in the mornings even as I bend over the sink. Help? What can I do to end the pain BESIDES medication. That’s not what I mean.

I mean, why am I getting this back pain and how can I avoid it?

Ignore the instructions?

What kind of catastrophes/embarrassment have you had because you ignored (or didn’t read) the instructions?

A couple of years ago…not too long…I had an infected tooth. My dentist prescribed something for the infection, as well as a pain medication which contained codeine. The pain med made me a little dizzy, about half-an-hour after I took it, but it didn’t do too much otherwise. Of course, on the pill bottle was a giant warning “DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL while taking this medication”.

So a couple of nights later I’m invited out with a couple of friends. I decide to take TWO of the pain pills, just to make sure the pain doesn’t interfere with my good time. After about 4 beers at a bar, I’m told that I groped some women who I didn’t know, took a leak ON our table, and did a few other embarrassing things. There’s no evidence of any of this (like camera-phone pictures), but I can’t remember any of it, and my friends hadn’t lied to me before. No choice but to believe it!
BTW, I haven’t gone back to that bar since then. Afraid they might throw me out, or call the cops :) oh, come on, now….four answers?? Yer gonna have to do better than that, people!

FM-it is in the head and hits three area, most intense pain?

thank you who tried to answer. All I know is the doctor says it is FM and that it is the worst pain ever. Medication makes him sick and he is at the limit he can take after having the blood work done.
Does anyone know what FM means and has anyone had success with any other kind of treatment. The pills make him sleepy and saps his energy. I have heard that others have it all through out their bodies and it is diabilating. Any help would be greatly appreciated…..thanks
