Herniated Disc.In Pain.Please Help?

Let me just start off saying that I also have scoliosis and have had back issues for the past 15 years. I had pain so great last summer that radiated down my leg into my toes that I went to physical therapy 3x a week and popped Vicodin and muscle relaxants like crazy. Well, it’s back and its been almost two weeks. I’m in agony and I have a two year old that I am home with all day. It’s been very hard to care for her plus limp around in pain. Is there anything that I can do at home to help without having to call the doc? I don’t have anyone to watch her during the day to go to PT and I’m trying my best to avoid it so I’ve been starting the exercises that I was shown a year ago…it helps for awhile, just so the pain is tollerable, and then starts in again. HELP!

What can cause sharp stomach pain and leg numbness?

Also, I have the common cold, in case that matters. I was thinking H. pylori, but I’m not sure.

What does a broken tailbone feel like? Should I seek medical attention?

For the past two to three weeks, I have been experiencing pain in my tailbone (specifically, right above the “butt crack” - graphic, but necessary). Could this be a fracture? I have no idea how I would have done it, but I fractured my foot in November and still don’t know how I did that. If it is a fracture, is there anything I can do outside of taking Advil? Do I really need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and something for immobilization, or is it more of a “wait it out” game?

Headaches-Vertigo-Ear Problems-Back pain-TMJ all related. Where should I start? What Specialist?

I have had serious health problems like ovarian cancer which I don’t believe is related to the above problems I have.
Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Auto Immune Disease, Sprained Lumbarsacral, Sciatic on both sides, TMJ. But my problem NOW TODAY is this horrible pain on the right side of my jaw/ear that it throbbing and its driving me nuts. My Family Pract. sent me to an Internalist but I cancelled the appt. Is this who I should see? Im more wholistic medicine not a pill popper. HELP!

Direct me - It may be lack of Magnesium and exercise. I had a hysterectomy (4th major laporatomy since 1997) April 4th this year and Im just starting to exercise. My massage Therapist wont see me until Im 8-10 months recovered. So he can work on my pelvic/stomach area. Im starting to work out this weekend doing the CORE system. Hopefully that will help.

MEDICAL LOOP CON’T( more info)?

Here are some more facts that I couldnt put into the first question. I was going to a pain management clinic before I was refered to the neurosurgen. I have had the cortisone epiderals(5x) I have been on every pain med out there. The pain clinic refered me to the neuro. surgen because the pain was so bad that nothing helped. They found a very herniated disc in the L5 area, but before that I had already have another discectomy and a fusion. The pain clinic wanted to put a pain port in before Isaw the surgen but of course the hernated disc was descovered. Today when I saw the neuro.surgen again he ordered another mylogram and a discogram. I have had them both and they seem to compound the problem. So once again my delima: who do I go to for help, the pain clinic or my family dr.? I am so tired of the run around and need some answers that I can understand. Thanks

Taking Hydrocodone?

I’m taking Hydrocodone, for sciatica. It says to take every 6 to 8 hours as needed for pain. I take it, but it doesn’t last long. I get the pain back in about 2 hours. Does it take a couple of days before your body can feel relief?
Thank you,
Lorraine

.Question for Massage Therapist. What is this pain in the palm of my hand?

I have been a Massage Therapist for 12 years. I do pretty much all deep tissue work. For about 2 weeks I have been noticing a painful tenderness in the palm of my hand between the ring and index finger. I first noticed it when I placed my hand on a banister to go upstairs. I do not feel it when I am working because the contact of my hand is not touching that spot directly. When I place my hand on an object or even touch that spot with the slightest prressure, the pain is excruciating. A very light touch will send my through the roof! There is no redness or swelling. No range of motion difficulty. I don’t even notice it is there until I accidently lay my hand upon something in just the right spot. Any ideas of what I am dealing with here? I am thinking some type of tendonitis but can not find any information on tendonitis in the palm of the hand.
Thanks for your input.

How much does it hurt to drain blood from the nail?

Hey, about 5 days ago I dropped a ski boot on my toe and the doctor put me on painkillers for it. It doesn’t really throb anymore, but it still is blue full of blood under the nail, and it’s extremely sensitive: I can’t put a sock on. I want it to be better by New Year’s, so I am going to a surgeon to get it drained. How painful is it, and which method is the best? Thanks!
