I experienced the same type of problem. Just like you, Advil, heating pads, etc., did little or nothing. At one point, the pain became so bad that I could not sleep at night.

I finally went to my dr. who did a CAT scan and diagnosed me w/ mild arthritis in my lower back caused by a previous injury. He told me to do certain exercises to alleviate the pain... and they worked!!! Now if I feel the pain coming back, I just do my exercises and my back feels better (thankfully, this happens only on rare occasions).

My advice to you is to see your dr., have him/her run tests, and find out what is causing the problem. Once you and your dr. know exactly why your back hurts, you can develop a plan together that will alleviate the pain.

Stretching will help along with elevating your legs at night. Sleep on your back with a pillow underneath your knees.

I have lower back pain too. I have suffered with it for years and have tried OTC medication, prescription meds, and epiderals, none of which have helped. The only thing that has helped me be pain free was physical therapy. It stretched my lower back and allowed my spine to return to its original shape.

the cause of back pain could probably due to wrong posture which give stress on your spinal column.

You should first see your Doctor to find the cause of the back pain.

Your treatment can vary greatly depending on the cause of it.

Most back problems, in my experience, are alleviated with proper instructed exercise by a Physical Therapist. Other times, medication is needed in conjunction with active exercise and stretching.

If your condition is not acute (within the last week), you should try applying moist heat or a dry heating pad to the area prior to activity.

You are, of course addressing all those poor fools that are afflicted with that team in Dallass. I honestly don't know how they can endure the mind numbing ineptness and incompetency year in & year out. What's it been, 60 years since they won an important game? The ******* rate must be spectacular in Dallass & I'll bet that they sell alot of guns there too. I feel bad for the children, to have to watch those losers week in & week out. That's probably why they have such a high rate of autism there in Big "D". The kids get so frustrated that they just withdraw & quit communicating with the outside world. The Government should look into this to protect the kids, and anyone with a feeble mind (Dallass fans) from further damage by this menace known as the Cryboys!

Because you did not disclose your age and associated symptoms it would be difficult to answer as there are different diagnosis and reason !Any way back pain mostly is because of the sprain and strain of muscles So it is musculoskeletal or neuromuscular pain!Irrespective of cause you can use NSAID means non steroidal anti inflammatory drug like Brufen, diclofenac or nimesulide with or without paracetamol! You can do massage and also hot fomentation! If nothing helps than you should try to find out the reason !For that go for Ultra sono graphy or plain x ray for radio opaque stone in kidney ureter and also go for lateral x ray of the spines for any evidence of lumber canal stenosis or a slip disc or loss of any lumber lordosis or shadow of cold abscess ! Because many time Tuberculosis of the spine also gives this pain !Or some major diseas like multiple myeloma also gives pain ! All this can be discuused well if your age is known !If nothing found than go for Myelography !and meet your doctor for to have a clear cut diagnosis!Always YouRsmE

God Bless you...

Nice question...

YES...I have always loved the Miami Dolphins--from back in the day of Griese, Cszonka, and the No-Name defense to the day of Marino, Clayton, Duper, and the Killer B's, the the day of Ricky (no, no, no not again RICKY--stay off the ganja!!!) Williams, Dante WHO? and what defense?

I also follow the KC Chiefs...I used to love the power running game with Okoye and DeBerg's PA passing game, Neil Smith and Derrick Thomas (God Rest His Soul) on D...

So yes, I can feel your pain...

And YES, I have cried over a football game loss before--not for pro, but college. 1984 Orange Bowl, Nebraska VS Miami, NU lost on a botched 2 point conversion after overcoming 2 17 point leads by Miami. Lost 30-31. I cried for a couple of days. Partly because I knew that when I went to school the next day, I would catch heck...and boy was I right...Oranges in my locker, re-enactments of the final play, "ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE" blaring in my ear...2 fights..AHH THE GLORY DAYS!!!!

My dad's favorite saying about my Redskins is this: "Looks like they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory again!"
I love my dad, but that pissed me off, every time. Very frustrating being a fan lately. Oh and I like the Orioles too...can't even finish .500, in last 10 yrs.
