Upper and lower left abdomal pain usually comes around time of period but not cramps read inside?

I am going to my Dr. this week but I am just curious if anyone might know a possible cause of these symptoms.

Upper left and lower left abdomal pain (upper is right under rib cage lower is also on left side but just right of my hip bone)

For the lower ab pain I think I can feel a small knot right under the skin.

I have been having on and off on time and late periods for the last 6 months.

This pain usually comes around the time of my peroid and I first had it about 3 months ago when I was 2 weeks late for my period. The first time I also had severe bloating and gas.

There have been a few times where it has been hard to pass ***** but I do have a bowl movement every day.My stools are also diffrent each day (I belive this is mainly because of the dif things I eat)

I have gas often but this may again be of things I eat.

I do NOT spot between perriods.

My last period only lasted 4 days while usually they last 7.

I KNOW that I am not pregnant wi/no STD
I have been with my fiance for 2 years and we have both been tested for STDS.This would not be a cause.

I have no kids.

I am adopted so I dont know alot of my birth fam. medical history.

I really need some support at the moment from other woman who know how scary going to the Dr can be when it comes down for womanly things.I really wish I could have gotton to the Dr sooner but we needed the money.
I never thought of endometriosis….My mom (who adopted me) had endometriosis and couldnt conceive.I think I need to call my mama! :)

You probably have endometriosis. It causes pain, which can be very sharp at times, and can worsen or improve depending on the position of your body, what you are doing, what week of your cycle it is, etc. Endometriosis means that the lining that comes out with everything else during your period “leaks” out through your fallopian tubes, sort if like it is backing up instead of all flowing down. that loose lining attaches to lining of other organs, like possibly your bladder, intestines, etc, or your ovaries too. This lining grows and shrinks like the lining on your uterus throughout your cycle. THis causes pain. Motrin is useful, but does not cure it. Birth control pills help control the cycle. but it is not curable, really, and can affect your fertility possibly. It can make *** painful too. Make sure to see your OB-GYN about this, to seek treatment. There are really good books on the topic, so read on.

you could need a blood test to check for a hormonal imbalance or a pap smear to make sure you don’t have anything seriously wrong. you may have endometrial cysts, or endometriosis. make sure you have your doc check! the pain you feel by your hip could just be you, believe it or not, this is what its called “mittleschmertzing” which is when your egg releases from your ovary before your period. im sure you will get this all fixed up! good luck!
