Pain in lower leg that goes all the way down to my foot. It only happens when i run or play sports?

The pain feels like my whole calf area is contracted and then my foot feels numb, like it is dead weight. It only happens in one foot, left leg. When i take off om shoe and move my foot around the pain will go away. It is frustrating because i can’t run a quarter of a mile with out it happening.

You may need to wrap it or wear a ankle wrap and if that doesn’t help, then see a sports doctor.

You probably just pulled a muscle or you probably strained it. I doubt its serious, unless you can’t move it at all. It happens when you don’t warm up your legs and you do any strenuous work or exercise. Try to warm up next time or wear leg warmers. That’s what I do for ballet, so we don’t get pains in our legs from dancing.

I had a budging disk in my back last year, my whole left leg feels like it is asleep. Like needles. It’s the budge pressing on my nerve. I could not have no one touch it, it was sensitive and I could put no cover on it or a sock. I think you might have something pressing on a nerve, that’s what it sounds to me. It could be a sign of something you need to check out especially if you run a lot. Good luck.

I would suggest that you check the foot wear that you are using. If the shoe is too tight then it will put pressure on one of the nerves in the foot. That pressure will cause the numbness and when you take the shoe off it goes away. Since the only time that it occurs is during extreme stress on the foot it is not likely to be a disc. Start off by going to a good running shoe store and having them fit you correctly for shoes. It is not uncommon to have one foot different in size than the other. The left foot could be a different size than that of the right. If you get fitting correctly and have the proper shoes and it still is occurring then see a podiatrist. There has to be something in the mechanics of running that is causing the problem. Again a simple solution would be to try a pair of arch supports. They can be obtained at a local pharmacy or even supermarket. They are by such companies as Dr. Scholl’s or Spenco. It the use of the arches takes the pain away then you might need to get custom orthotics made by a podiatrist.
